do you have to file an informal accounting request, to the executrix, with the Court so that they can have it on file?

I am not sure I unjderstand the question. An Executor can account to heirs informally, without filing the accounting with the Surrogate, if all heirs approve and consent. To close the estate with the Surrogate, Refunding Bonds and Releases are signed by the heirs, acknowledging they received their inheritance, and these are filed with the Surrogate.
