in the state of new jersey how long do I HAVE TO SETTLE AN ESTATE. mY MOM DIED IN NOVEMBER 2013 I HAVE HAD 2 PROPERTIES TO SELL AND I ONLY SOLD ONE BECAUSE OF THE DEPRESSED AREA THE OTHER TWO ARE IN. mY SISTER IS TAKING ME TO COURT. nOW WHAT

There is no statutory time period and an estate with real estate usually takes longer to settle. Have you paid all bills, filed income tax returns, filed any death tax returns that might be required, and accounted for what has been done up to now? Have you made any preliminary distributions of remaining assets? You provided confusing facts: mentioning 2 properties and then saying you sold one but the other two are in a depressed area. I might suggest a preliminary distribution if one has not been made, and possibly doing Deeds to list the heirs as owners of the property. I do not know why your sister is taking you to court, so unless and until I get more information, I can only provide limited responses.
