Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey

Right to choose medical provider

I live in NY state. I was injured on the job in New Jersey.

The insurance carrier for the company I work for is dictating that I receive care from one of their doctors.

Do I have the legal right to choose my own specialist in New York state? and if so what consequences will I face.

I feel that I am being muscled around, since I am not familiar with NJ law.

Please help......Thank You

Re: Right to choose medical provider

The law in NJ says that if you get injured on the job and you want to have your medical care paid for by the workers compensation insurance carrier, you have to use one of their authorized doctors. If you don't it is your responsibility to pay for your medical treatment. Admittedly it is a trade off - get your medical care for free, but only if you use their doctors. In your case it may be possible to arrange for you to be seen by an authorized doctor closer to your home.I am an attorney who has handled hundreds of workers compensation cases in NJ in the past. I would like very much to speak with you regarding your work place injury to see how I can assist you in your claim. Please call me on Thursday, June 17 at 1-908-272-0111 to discuss your case. There is never any charge for simply consulting with me on your case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
