Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey

Should I Sue

I worked for this company for 1 yr, during the course of this year started having back pain. On and off. On 10/31/05 the pain was so bad went to have an mri and the results were I needed surgury to repair a herniated disc and a nerve inpingment, had the surgury 1/31/06 and was not a complete success still back pain and numb left leg. Went on short term disability as of 10/31/05 till my company let me go as of 7/1/06. I had no intentions of suing cause i wanted my job back but the doctors would not release me to return to work in that capacity as a warehouse worker, heavy lifting. should i now sue?

Re: Should I Sue

you should certainly make a workers comp cliam against the company. If you were injured on the job, you are entitled to be compensated for the work related injury. Let me know which county you were working in , and I can refer you to a competent workers comp attny. You should only use those attny's that specialize in workers comp.

Re: Should I Sue

If you were hurt on the job and lost over 8 days of work, you are entitled to compensation.

It is against the law to fire a worker because the worker makes a worker's compensation claim.
