Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey

worker comp

I was hurt on my job. i work part time and was out of work for ten days. i was injured doing what i was hired to do and sustained a lower back injury. I went to the local hospital on that sunday 26th and again on wed 29th and not able to return until the next week on the 7thof may today. I was told there is a seven day waiting period a will not get any money for the seven days. I will get a small check for the two days. Is this correct? And should i speak to a lawyer and possibly sue them incase of any future problem?

Re: worker comp

If the workers compensation authorized doctor puts you out of work for more than seven days then you are entitled to receive temporary disability payments. If your back still hurts then you should definitely consult with a lawyer experienced in workers compensation cases, such as myself. You have two years from the date of the injury to file a claim, but there is no rule on how soon you can file a claim. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various workers compensation courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
