Re: ppd

What do you mean? If you mean what your PPD amount should be... well that is a medical question to be decided either as a compromise between your treating physician and the insurance company's doctor or through litigation and letting a judge decide who is the most credible medical expert.

A PPD is not an arbitrary number that is yanked out of thin air. I hope that this helps you.

The medical guidelines of the Compensation Board give some guidance to your doctor. Usually there are three categories: Marked=75% Moderate=50% and Mild=%25. Sometimes lawyers may compromise between the categories. For example your doctor says moderate(50%) and their doctor says mild (25%) so you compromise and go with a 33 1/3% rate. It really depends on your injury. In practice, very few people are classified as being totally disabled because the Compensation Board's standards for total disability are so high. Whatever your rate of classification is determined to be, that then gets multiplied time 2/3 of your average weekly wage.
