Legal Question in Disability Law in New York

i being charge with Grand Larceny 3rd degree. I have a clean record. I did something stupid, but at the time it meant keeping my home, and food on the table. Anyway, can the deferred adjudication be something that can help me. I have a child and going to jail will make things worse than they are already.
