Legal Question in Business Law in New York
What does ''Its'' mean?
In the signature section of a contract, I see
two lines. One for ''By,'' and one for ''Its.''
Which do I sign my signature in, and
what's the other one?
Thank You

The signature block you describe is for a person to sign on behalf of a corporation or other entity. The line that says "by" is for the name of the person. The line that says "its" is for that person's title. Thus, a signature block executed on behalf of XYZ Corp. might say "By John Doe, its Vice President."
As the other attorney says, "its' refers to the title of the person signing on behalf of an entity (corporation, LLC, partnership). Consult with an attorney in your area for specific advice.
