how do I sue a company in canada when I reside in NYC
I need to bring a breach of contract action against a client in Ontario- any suggestions

YOu can sue the client in NY assuming you can get jurisdiction over them (that may be quite easy just see if they maintain an office in NY or sell product here.)
Of course you could sue in Canada.
It seems, assuming you are owed a fair amount of money, that this is not a good case to handle Pro Se. Our firm stands ready to speak to you about this matter should you be so inclined.
