Legal Question in Business Law in New York
unpaid withholding taxes due to irs.
When I turned 18 years of age eight years ago my father asked me to put his business in my name.
With out my knollege he was not submitting payroll taxes deducted from employees salary's to the government.
When the business was disolved I realized that I was responsible for these taxes.
Now my is not willing to pay these taxes, Is there any recourse for me to get this debt removed from my record?

Has the IRS asked you for money? If not, there is no public record that you are a debtor.
Furthermore, if you had no role in management, you are not liable for the debt.

Not only will IRS eventually catch up to this but State and City taxes may be do. You should speak to an accountant. Save the business records showing you had nothing to do with the business and took no profits.
