Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

How hard will it be to prove discrimination with these facts

I sent in my resume/application for this high up management position in a semi large(soon to be over 100 offices) company. The position would be for the NY office. They got back to me saying I WAS THE MOST QUALIFIED AND THE 1 THAT STOOD OUT OF THE MASS. The email had a line implied I basically had the job. The exact line was something like I need to send the questionaire in asap since they want to start in 2 weeks. They did say that they would just keep interviewing other ppl(backups). Anyway the email said to send the questionaire to another email address which I learned was the CEO. Researching the company I learned that the HQ is in a middle state with not that many minorities. All of their execs I know for a fact are white except 1 and I think basically all of their staff is white too. Might find 1 minority each office(maybe). Anyway 1 of the questions asked about experience and my answer basically revealed that I was black. It's been over a week and they didn't even send a someone else is hired email which if I made it this far you usually do. Would not getting hired because of race be provable?

Can it be provable? maybe, maybe not. Can it be inferred? Maybe, maybe not.
