Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Ok i own and rent a building thats 3 floors,3 families in Brooklyn,NY.Now NYCBuildings gave me exactly 10 violation tickets under Class 1.They are saying im advertiding on outdoors a pharmacy company and a laundry depot in my property when my property clearly has no posters,advertisements or anything to do with these people.I got a hearing date but not a cure date.I went in person to the pharmacy and laundry spoke with owner of pharmacy they clearly had no idea and told me they had nothing to do with this now i went today and they told me this seem to be made on purpose by the worker from the city seems like they are rivals or had problems in some way but the problem is he involved my property and a few others people when we have nothing to do in this and the amount per violation goes from $5,000 to $25,000! I called the nyc building dpt but seems like they dont want to help me all they say is they cant do anything til the hearing date cause nothing comes up in their computers whats going on? i looked for help with the nyc council and they investigated and it seems like it was a mistake/mistake done on purpose by the worker but they dont want to help or do anything til the hearing date but i repeat i have nothing to do in this cause of their mistake now im involved.Please somebody who knows about laws,a lawyer etc please tell me what to do and what actions can i take..is it possible to sue them for making me have a bad time and for involving me in this while being innocent..Somebody help me please

This sounds like a terrible situation, but despite your feelings about the issuance of the citations, you still have to appear in front of the DOB Hearing Officer to have the matter properly adjudicated.

Considering the circumstances and the potential fines, it's probably best that you retain counsel prior to your hearing date.
