Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

Is this slander

About one year ago, my boyfriend's stbx accused me of molesting one of his children. This was proven of course as untrue, and then some time later, his older daughter came over to the house and, I assume, being uncomfortable with her father and I sleeping in the same room, told her mother that I slapped one of the boys in the face. After courtroom drama (against my boyfriend though my name was mentioned), the boy told the law guardian that nothing of the sort happened and that his sister was lying and that his mother told him to say this. My boyfriend's brother came over very recently and unfortunately encountered this individual who continued stating all of the aforementioned accusations. Can this in any way be determined as slander/libel and is there anything I can do to get her to stop spreading her malicious lies? I work with children and I am wary that her insanity can in some way affect my job and I do know that she is saying this to everyone who is willing to listen. Thank you

Re: Is this slander

Slander is a false oral statement made with the intention it be accepted as fact. In order to suceed you must be able to establish that the person who made the statement knew it was false.

There are several somewhat similar cases to what what you describe already decided by the courts.

It would probably make it to jury verdict.

If you wish to discuss this please give me more facts.
