Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York
I was wondering if there was any expectation of privacy in a detached garage with a wide open front door. From what I have found online, all indications show that if you can be seen from the street there is no privacy expectation. I can see clearly from my yard to where the neighbors stand in their garage and constantly smoke dope. Before I contact anyone about this, or gather evidence, I want to make sure that there are no privacy issues at stake. This is in New York. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
