Legal Question in Technology Law in New York
Software infringment
A company has broken my copyrighted software lock and is selling illegally my CD with the same name and source codes but with a new lock and at one third of the original price. What are my legal remedies/options and as a first step, what elements I should include in a Cease and Desist letter? Is there a sample of such a letter?

Re: Software infringment
A cease and desist letter is your obvious first step. You should be identifying the infringer and its property and begin to draft a complaint to file at the federal level. You need to hit these types very hard, very fast -- the purpose is not always to get anything from them but stop erosion of your market share.
