Legal Question in Constitutional Law in New York

Acquiring possession without oral or written consent

Today, my personal possessions were confiscated by security guards at the school I attend. They acquired possession of my items and I did not give any form of consent for them to do so. I have researched and learned that acquired possession without consent is a property right fully guaranteed to me and protected by Constitutional Law. They took my property, and my question is, am I capable of pressing charges for acquiring my property without my oral or written consent?

Yes, you do have a right to retain your personal property; however, if you are a student in high school or below, your rights are limited.
