Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
Car dealer charged for honda care but did not register for it.
hi,
I bought a certified car from a honda dealer in Feb 2006, and along with that I also bought a Honda care Policy. When I ask the dealer to cancel the policy he says it will take 4-6 weeks to cancel and for the refund when its already 2 months that i had signed the form to cancel the policy(Oct 2006). When I call the Policy office, they tell me that they have no records for my policy in the computer, since the dealer did not enter the record in the computer. Now when I call the dealer and tell him the same thing, he is trying to avoid me. I shud get the full refund for the policy since there was infact no policy registered for the car. What can i do now to get my money? I have made so many failed attempts to visit the dealer. Please help me.

Send the dealer a certified letter, return receipt requested demanding your money back within 10 days. If you don't get it, file suit in small claims court for the full amount.
