Legal Question in Consumer Law in New York
I entered into contract to buy a tractor for $10,000 I left him a $500 deposit, he was to deliver me the tractor within 10 days at which time he would receive the balance. He now tells me he does not want to sell me the tractor and wants to refund my money. Can I hold him to the contract and the man the tractor?

You have to prove that the seller's changing his mind somehow caused you damages for the foreseeable future and that you can not easily replace the promised tractor through another source. It is a very difficult hill to climb unless your purchase of the tractor was based on an emergency situation.
