Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

assault and 2nd degree felony

My bf and my sisters bf dont get along. We were at my job and my sisters bf came and wanted to fight. He was removed from the store but came back to hit my bf, my bf tried to defend himself and cut him in the neck. My sisters bf is triple the size of my bf and hes being charged with assault and 2nd degree felony. How is this looking?

The size of the other person does not matter. Your boyfriend should have contacted the police when the other person threatened him. What he needs now is a very good lawyer. He is facing a very serious charge.
