Petit larceny is an A misdemeanor. If the amount involved is small and this is a first offense your attorney may be able to get the case adjourned in contemplation of dismissal. This is as it sounds the case is adjourned and if you stay out of trouble the case will be dismissed. The fines on an ACD are nothing. It is very unlikely that the case will not be plea bargained down to something non-criminal in nature such as a violation. The fines and surcharges for a violation are usually less than 300 dollars.
