Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

if I am being charged with identity theft and grand larceny, the person who filed the police report does not want to press charges just follow up. I have an arrangment date this coming week. Never been arrested in my life.

These are especially tricky cases and even if the person doesn't wish to go forward the DA can go forward without them.
