Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

filing false police report

I was involved in an incident where I gave a statement by what I remembered. The detective is trying to ticket me for a false report. I only remember what I tld him and there is no-one else involved. It sounds like he is trying to close the case at my cost. What should I do?

Don't make any statements - you'll be making the problem worse. If they persist, get a lawyer.

I am in agreement with Joseph, keep you mouth closed and if this persists locate an attorney.

Any additional statements will make matters worse.
