Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Harrassment and Threatening

I had an affair and it was proven to my husband and him and I talked it out and have decided to try to save our marriage. The only problem is the man will not leave us alone. He continues to harrass us by either bringing things to my husbands work, emailing our friends online and not sure what else. We just want left alone. He is on parole for attempted murder of his wife but of course he plead guilty to a lesser crime for less jail sentence. I have been getting emails from a friend of his that has become bothersome and now has me fearing for my safety. He has been able to cover his tracks very well and accuse me of the very things he is doing. I do not care to contact him, I just want one thing, him to leave us alone. How do I stop this harassment? How do I ensure that I am safe from any harm by this man? It doesn't matter so much to me that the things he is saying are half false, I just want it to stop.

Re: Harrassment and Threatening

Best answer is to document everything and report it to the police. If all goes well you may be able to obtain a temporary order of protection from the court. Good luck.
