Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Job Application Disclosure
Is it a criminal offense or violation of probabtion to lie about prior conviction? I understand it is grounds for being fired, but is it criminal or could be construed as criminal if you are on probation.

Re: Job Application Disclosure
Your question is a little more complicated than is evident at first glance.
It is a violation of law to misinform a court or not correct the court's information of that point if it is incorrect.
On the other hand, it is not a crime to misinform friends, family, possible or current employers.
I am unclear whether misinforming a police officer is a crime in and of itself.
