Is prostitution a crime in newyork. Is it
legal to run a brothel.

I would like to answer this with a quote from George Carlin, but it would be far from appropriate.
It is not legal to operate a brothel in NY, as a matter of comparison the only place is Nevada and they are regulated by each county.
