Legal Question in Family Law in New York

1. How much "weight" does a court put on a situation of "he said / she said" during a divorce proceeding? In other words, if one spouse is trying to discredit the other spouse by reciting a "laundry list" of offenses that happened in the past, is this acceptable?

It all depends on its relevance, its value as evidence, and whether the party follows the rules of evidence to get it in.

Also, if the evidence is outweighed by the undue prejudice, the judge may not let it in.

In such matter, it is better to retain an attorney who understands these rules to object to certain submissions.
