There is no set period of time. There are grounds for annulment which includes not consumating the marriage, under age, and incompetent.

Anulments are rare these days. If there are children, the courts will not grant an anulment as it bastardizes the child.

The only reason these days to get an anulment is for religiious reasons. But even the church has changed its ways.
