Legal Question in Family Law in New York
If a child is 18 and wants to move out, can his/her parents not give them their stuff? is it illegal?

The key is "their stuff." Items such are clothes and jewelry are the child's. Things such are bedroom furniture are questionable if you purchased it for use in the home. The key question on non-clothing items is "Is it a gift? If it was given as a gift, it is the child's and cannot be revoked.
