Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I need to file for divorce. I need to know if I was married in Fl ,can I file in NY. Im a 3x brain tumor patient, a 2x stroke patient(most recent on 1/20/11) and just started a new job in Rockland county. Also, We have an 11 year old together that is under my care so I cant travel back and forth. Please let me know because I need child support which is no being provided right now.

It doesn't matter where you were married. You both reside in New Yor. , so you can file in the county where you both reside.

If you have lived in NY for the last 2 years, you can file in NY. If one of you has lived in NY for the last 1 year, and the cause of action occurred in NY, you can file in NY.
