Guarantee visitation on a special day

I am getting re-married and my ex-wife has already told me that there will be a conflict on the day I am getting married becuase she will be taking the children away. This is about a year away and she is doing this on purpose. How can I gaurantee I will get the children on this special day?

You may need to obtain a Court Order to ensure your "Day" with children.

You might also consider discussing with the children that you and your intended, very much want to share the day with them.... that your remarriage does not mean the "end" of anything that you have with them... But a beginning... Ask them what they think could or would make it possible for their mother to permit them attend. Suggest counseling or other remedy.

Please note, a Court Order mandating that the mother permit atttendance is only a temporary remedy for a problem that can become much more hurtful, now that you'r remarrying. More hurtful to the children, you and your new spouse.

Good luck,

Make sure to get married on a day that you are entitled to visitation, or apply for a court order citing the special circumstance.
