Legal age to move out

im 18 and i want to leave my house and live on my own. i live in new york. long island. and my parents told me i cant move out unless im done with high school. i want to know the law. if i can or cant move out

It is not illegal for you to move out of your parents home. However, other legal issues may arise out of your living on your own.
