Legal Question in Family Law in New York
is it legal for my husbands attorney to make any changes to signed seperation papers prior to filing but after they were signed? I am told that changes were made.

No, an attorney cannot make changes once it's signed. If you find out he did so, report him to the judge and the bar. Unless there is a honest explanation, changing executed documents may be considered unethical.
Do you have an attorney? If so, discuss your concerns with counsel. If you don't have one, you should hire one to protect your interests.
Also, you should have obtained a copy of the separation agreement before you returned the executed document or at the minimum initialed each page at the bottom.
