Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Legal separation

How much does it cost to file for legal separation in NYC? or attorney cost?

If I decide to file on my own, how do I go about getting the proper forms for legal separation.

Is legal separation honored in Pennsylvania too or no?

Thank you.

Re: Legal separation

You will need to have a legal separation prepared, signed by both parties, and filed in the County were you reside.

I do not know about the laws regarding this matter in Pennsylvania .

Re: Legal separation

The amount an attorney will charge to draft a separation agreement will depend upon its complexity. Are there children? Spousal support issues? Is there property to divide?

Under most circumstances, this is not a do it yourself project. Pennsylvania divorce law is entirely different from New York.

Re: Legal separation

A legal separation agreement is a legally binding contract between two parties, which outlines the rights and obligations of each. each state has different requirements, but they generally recognize a legally filed agreement filed properly. The costs depend upon the complexities. You should not attempt to do this without competent representation. You may contact my office @7188340087 to set up a consultation.
