Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I have lived with my boyfriend for 8 years, I moved into his house, all our money has gone into one account to pay the bills, but everything has remained in his name, now he wants to end our relationship. I want to rent his 2nd floor apartment until I save enough to move out, does he have the right to say I can't?

If he wants to evict you, he has to go through the normal procedure for evicting tenants.

This process may take months to complete.

Also, if you can tract all or part of the money in the account, you can sue him for that balance.

The best think you can do is negotate a settlement on the above isssues.
