Legal Question in Family Law in New York

mediciad

my 19yr daughter still lives at home ( does not go to school ) but I do not pay any of her bills. She applied for medicaid but was turned down because she still lives at home- they count my income- WHY? I do not support her. If she moved out or lived with a non family member it would be no problem to get it.

Re: mediciad

It is assumed that she derives income or benefit from living at home. The presumption is rebuttable. Get to an attorney and he may even be able to get her qualified before he has to bring any legal motions etc.

Good luck.
