Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My mother pays my father child support for me. I have not been physically living in the house with him for a year, I have been out on my own. He was paying for my insurance and medical bills. I am turning 21 in two weeks and researched that the court can extend child support through college until the child is 26 and in school, called educational expenses. Is this possible? He is now refusing to pay anything for me but I am a college student taking 20 credits and a small part time job, I cannot afford to pay those expenses by myself

Unless there is a written divorce agreement requiring either of your parents to pay child support past the age of 21 or your college educational expenses you cannot get this. Without seeing your parent's divorce agreement I cannot advise you on this further.
