Legal Question in Family Law in New York

In NY state is if a father has joint physical custody where he gets the chilld every other week and the parents make about the same amount of money should one paretn pay support to the other or each support the child equally?

The child support calculator used by the court will provide the judge with guidance on how much the noncustodial parent will pay. In calculating support, the judge takes into consideration the amount of time spent with the other parent. If the parents have one week on and one week off, the order of $0 child support may be appropriate.
