Is it against the law to date someone who is separated but not legally divorced yet?

Assuming you mean legally separated, and not just absent from a spouse, no.

And even if it is not a legal separation, there is no law against dating. However, adultery may become an issue if it goes beyond dating and the person is not, at minimum, legally separated.
