Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I need to serve an order to show cause for a custody case to 3 different people, 2 of them live out of state, can I mail the 2 that live out of state?

The Court usually directs you on how it wants service to be made. If they dont, and you do service by mail make sure you send it certified mail so you can provide receipts to the Court with your affidavit of service.
