Legal Question in Family Law in New York

my son father filed a custody/visitation petition he does not pay child support he has never done a thing for the child i am not opposed to giving him visitation as long as it supervised because we have a history of domestic violence the lastest incident happening on 4/7/11 what should be my next move?

If there isn't a child support order already, file for child support in the same matter.

If there is an orde, but he has violated it by not paying child support, file for contempt in the same proceeding.
