Legal Question in Medical Leave in New York
I have completed my 12 weeks of FMLA, but unable to return to work requiring 3 more weeks of treatment. Since my sick days are being used for my leave, how will the 3 extra weeks impact me?

The problem is after you exhaust FMLA, sick time, and vacation, your employer can fill your position. You should talk with your employer about the three weeks. Some employers are actually reasonable when it comes to giving their employees extra time. This is especially true if you are a good long-term employee.
