Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York
Juridiction for civil case
I belong to a nationwide auto club hat provides roadside service. I was traveling North on I-95 when it was determined a tire was going bad, and called for roadside service near exit 150 in Virginia State, where my tire was ghanged by an agent of the auto club. The tire came off the car in traffic, less than 3 miles from site of tire change. After a call to the auto club, I was towed by an auto club contractor into Maryland. The auto club has refused to repair my car, which has been estimated to have incurred $2312. worth of damage. They have instead offered me $200., as a goodwill gesture. Can I sue for the cost of repairs to my car in New York, my place of residence?

Re: Juridiction for civil case
You could try, but the auto club will undoubtedly respond that the contractor was independent, and that your claim is actually against the contractor.
