Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Money Gift

While dating my ex-girl friend she decided to give me a gift money. On the gift check she wrote down ''gift'' and even further she signed a gift affidavit. We broke up about a year after the gift was given. At that time she got really sour and has been asking for the gift money back. Normally I would have given it back, but currently financially I'm not able to do so. Is there a legal way of telling her to stop bothering me. I would like to put this matter behind me.

You may not want to hear this, but she may be able to demand it back. It depends on the cirumstances.
