Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York
My now 63-year-old aunt received her greencard in 1967. After a year in the US, she returned to Germany and lived there until today. She has no more records of said greencard or her status at the time. Is there a way to inquire about her status? Would her greencard have expired by now (I read somewhere that greencards issued in the 60s didn't have an expiration date).
Thanks,
TS

It appears that she is no longer a permanent resident because of abandonment of a lawful permanent resident status (whether the card itself had expired or not).
