Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

I have a boyfriend that used to live here in the U.S. but then decided to go back to his birth country. We want to get married in a few months in his birth country. How long after I come back to the U.S. will it take for him to get legal papers?

It depends on your future husband admissibility to the USA, and whether he lived in the U.S. legally or illegally.
