Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

Hello,I got a denial for my naturalization application because I missed the second interview that they gave for me to bring my tax documents. In the denial letter it was stated that the officer that I had the interview with gave me some kind of form and requested me my tax receipts for five years..This is NOT TRUE.She didnt requested me anything and didnt give me any kind of form to fill it...In the letter it was stated that I missed the second interview date too.I have NEVER received any interview date in the mail. They say that they sent in,I never receive it.They say that if the mail didnt return this means I got it,its rediculus.I can not prove that I havent receive this mail, anyway I made a complaint about the officer since she had a false statement in my decision and I made an appeal to make them review my case...

I need advice on two things:

1-After my appeal approximately how long does it take for me to get another interview date?

2-I'm in the middle of a divorce..I have an order of protection against my husband and he filed a complaint about me to give me the hard time in my citizenship process. The told the police that Im calling him and bothering him..If I go to police to defend myself (which Im not guilty,Im not escaping,I have proof that he gave his adress for my naturazation papers and we were calling each other for this) If I got arrest, how this would affect my naturazation process..I am told that they may just to take fingerprints and maybe just one day in the jail.I dont want to ruin my citizenship for nothing,I waited so long and Im not guilty. Please help me,thanks in advance...

You need to speak with an experienced immigration attorney if you want to straighten out your citizenship application. There is no way to say how long it will take for you to get another interview and how the long the process will go on from there. If you are arrested, it is likely to have an effect on your naturalization application as "moral character" is something that is taken into account. I am located in New York City and can offer you a free 30 minute consultation. Call (866) 723 7610 x101 if you are interested.
