Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

My husband got arrested on July 2011 because he was staying in the us beyond his authorized stay. Homeland security officers took his passport and left him with no sort of identification documents. Once I became an American citizen I applied for him to get his status adjusted, he has an appointment to get his fingerprints done in 3 weeks and we are not sure how to go there with no IDs. All what he has is a debit card issued from a local bank in New York with his picture on it. Any suggestions?
