Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

Hi, My mum is 11 years in the USA living and working illegally. She is 62 and she is from Ukraine. She is social and environment friendly person has not committed any crime apart of overstaying her visa. She is very nice person and I strongly believe she would be a very conches citizen.

Is there any root how she can become a resident or stay legally in the USA?

Only if she came to USA on a visa and now is married to a US citizen, or has a child over 21 who can petition for her. I understand that noone ever petitioned for her and she didn't apply for any immigration benefits with USCIS/former INS.

What is your visa/status in USA?

Based on the information you have given, family sponsorship is your mother's best option if she entered the United States legally (with a visa). It may be best if you contact an attorney and see if there's anyone who can sponsor her, as we don't know her marital status, your status and whether she has any (US citizen) children.
