Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

Hi,

I am a permanent resident since DEC 2005;

I would like to apply to Citizenship but I have a conviction record in my history;

Last March 2009 I was arrested for patronizing a lady and I plead guilty to a lesser charge of Disorderly conduct; No probation I just paid a fine.

How many chances do I have to pass? Should I wait 5 years from conviction to file?

I obtained my Green Card through my ex wife: we married in Feb 2005;

We divorced on Sept 2009;

I am now working part time.

Please give me an advice.

Thank you

You wrote: "Last March 2009 I was arrested for patronizing a lady and I plead guilty to a lesser charge of Disorderly conduct".

Do you mean that you were arrested for patronizing a Prostitute?

I don't believe that patronizing a lady is a crime.

Yes, I view your chances of approval of your application for naturalization as very low at this time. As one of the elements of the application for naturalization, one must prove a 'good moral character' at least within the statutory period of time (5 years in this case).
