Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

removal/deportation proceedings???

My boyfriend is currently serving time for a prior drug conviction and violation of a parole program was also charge with escape.The escape is from leaving NJ to come to NY. He now has an INS detainer and supposely is under investigation for removal of the us can anything be done??? We have a three yr old am a us citizen should we get married? or what can be done if any???

There are multiple ways to potentially keep him in the country. In such a case it is important to specifically know the crime which was charged, penal code, level of crime etc.

Generally, most drug offenses do put you in a position for deportation however there may be options in most circumstances. However, the specific plea would potentially make this process either much harder or much easier.
